The Traffic Management Advisory Committee (TMAC) developed as a forum for incident management, traffic management, and intelligent transportation systems issues to be discussed and debated at the metropolitan level. TMAC formed in May 2005 and merged the Metro Traffic Management Team (MTMT) and the Iowa DOT’s Interstate 235 Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) working groups.
TMAC includes those entities that execute day-to-day operations of the incident management, traffic management, and emergency management activities in the metro area.
