Central Iowa Bicycle-Pedestrian Roundtable

The Central Iowa Bicycle-Pedestrian Roundtable (Bike-Ped Roundtable) formed in 2004 at the request of multiple central Iowa trail enthusiasts. This roundtable encompasses the planning areas of the Des Moines Area MPO, the Ames Area MPO, and the CIRTPA. Since its inception, the group has grown to include local parks and recreation staff, CIRTPA representatives, MPO representatives, Ames Area MPO staff, other trails organizations, and interested citizens.

The mission of the Bike-Ped Roundtable is "to facilitate the development, maintenance, and promotion of a world-class commuter and recreational trails system in central Iowa.” The Central Iowa Bicycle-Pedestrian Roundtable meets the third Tuesday of each month, with Jim Lane of Norwalk presiding.
