The Central Iowa Regional Transportation Planning Alliance (CIRTPA) carries out transportation planning for eight central Iowa counties. The CIRTPA serves as the designated regional transportation planning agency for Region 11.
Public Input Meeting
CIRTPA will host a public input meeting on Thursday, March 11. The meeting will be held in the CIRTPA Meeting Room, 6200 Aurora Avenue, Suite 300W, Urbandale. The CIRTPA will receive comments on two proposed amendments to the Federal Fiscal Years 2010-2013 Transportation Improvement Program. Click here for more information.
Traffic Counting Program
The CIRTPA recently created the Traffic Counting Program to facilitate the distribution and use of traffic counting equipment. Seven member counties and eight member cities are participating in this program. The equipment will assist participants in obtaining traffic count data that is not traditionally collect the the Iowa Department of Transportation. Members can then use this data to assist in programming transportation projects and in determining safety concerns related to vehicle speed.
