Wants to Know...

Eight airports serve the Des Moines metropolitan area. The two principal airports in the area are the Ankeny Regional Airport (IKV) and the Des Moines International Airport (DSM). Please visit the Iowa Department of Transportation's Office of Aviation for more information.
The Ankeny Regional Airport, owned and operated by the Polk County Aviation Authority, provides general aviation services. This airport facilitates personal and business travel as well as just-in-time shipping, law enforcement, and agricultural and medical transport.
The City of Des Moines owns and operates the Des Moines International Airport. A seven member Airport Board of Trustees, comprised of representatives appointed by the Des Moines City Council, governs the airport. This airport serves as the major air passenger and airfreight service center for central Iowa. The Des Moines International Airport offers service to a plethora of non-stop destinations; please visit the Des Moines International Airport website for more information. The airport also serves as an Iowa Air National Guard base.
