Access Management

The Des Moines Area MPO and Iowa State Universities Center for Transportation Research and Education (CTRE) are studying access management in the Des Moines metropolitan area. This study if funded by a grant from Iowa Department of Transportations Traffic Safety Improvement Program.

The tasks of the study are:

1. Problem Identification;
2. Development of Access Management Elements for the Des Moines Area MPO LRTP and STP;
3. Integration of Access Management Planning and Land Use Planning; and,
4. Education of Local Transportation and Land Use Professionals, Local Elected Officials, Private Consulting Firms, and the Public Regarding Access Management.
