Passenger Rail Station Study Completed
The MPO staff completed the Des Moines Area Passenger Rail Station Feasibility Study, which evaluated six sites along the Iowa Interstate Railroad. The review criteria included the proximity to the Des Moines Central Business District and other public transportation services, the availability of parking, and the platform and facility size that each site could support. The study recommends the Rock Island Depot, located at 100 4th Street in Des Moines, as the preferred site.
